On the eve of her senior year of college, Elena, a Latina journalism major, is chasing the prestigious Ashdale Garthwinger Award for Journalistic Excellence through her diligent work of calling-out and calling-in all of the cultural appropriation she sees woven throughout her university’s campus culture. When a mysterious new app arrives on campus and threatens to render her research and application obsolete, Elena sets out to investigate the app and its impact. A new sci-fi musical satirical comedy (re-envisioned for virtual production) about the intersection of identity and social media and what it means to be yourself, out loud.
